About Vivian?
Artist, illustrator, model. Queer, femme, non-binary gendered mermaid. Also known as Vivian De Milo. Currently living in Half Moon Bay, California, with my partner (in crime) Jason and our chubby black cat Martha.
I’m inspired by silent films, taxidermy, fairy tales, the female form, ballerinas, insects, animals, human sexuality, and Victorian childrens books and dolls.
I work quickly and I’m very prolific. I work straight from my head, very rarely using any references. I’m very visual, I memorize bits and pieces of objects and people that inspire me.
Favorite materials are ink, watercolor, markers, acrylics, bristol, mat board, sunshine, and coffee.
I spend my free time reading, watching old movies, eavesdropping in coffee shops, playing dress-up, eating (vegan) pancakes, and wandering around in the woods.
Available for commissions. I’m comfortable and competent with a vast array of subject matter.
